The Barnwood Furniture Story

It’s interesting to note that a selection of the quality American-made rustic furniture that we carry is constructed from salvaged old growth barnwood timbers reclaimed from structures out west. Each piece of rustic barnwood furniture tells a story of America’s history. Materials with the right look and quality are handpicked and recycled into beautiful furniture that carries timeworn greys and brown tones, saw marks, nail holes, exposed joinery, and metal work that makes it one-of a-kind.

Back in the day, when the barns were first constructed, a 2 x 4 actually measured 2 inches thick, and the tight-grained wood from ancient trees cut on a circle sawmill maintained the tell-tale half circle marks from the blade. Those kinds of quality timbers aren’t available in the new lumber produced today.

Heirloom Quality Barnwood Furniture

Reclaiming old growth timbers to construct rustic barnwood furniture produces bold, sturdy pieces that are built to last. Owning a piece of barnwood furniture ensures that you will have something beautiful to pass on from generation to generation.
